The joint Canada/U.S. intransit preclearance initiative proposes that, at major Canadian airports, travellers in transit through Canada to the U.S. will not have to clear Canadian customs, but will be able to proceed directly to the U.S. preclearance area. Still under development, this initiative will benefit Canadian airports and airlines. As a result, it will also benefit our economy by enhancing the competitiveness of Canadian travel services for tourists and business travellers.

L'initiative conjointe canado-américaine de précontrôle en transit prévoit que, dans les grands aéroports au Canada, les voyageurs en transit au Canada à destination des États-Unis ne seront pas tenus de passer aux douanes canadiennes et pourront se rendre directement à la zone de précontrôle des États-Unis. Encore à l'état de projet, cette initiative profitera tant aux aéroports qu'aux compagnies aériennes au Canada. Par conséquent, notre économie profitera de cette initiative, car la compétitivité des services de voyages offerts aux touristes et aux voyageurs par affaires au Canada en sera accrue.

La iniciativa conjunta canado-estadounidense de precontrol en tránsito prevé que, en los grandes aeropuertos de Canadá, los viajeros en tránsito en dicho país con destino a Estados Unidos no estén obligados a pasar por las aduanas canadienses y puedan pasar directamente a la zona de precontrol de Estados Unidos. Todavía en estado de proyecto, esta iniciativa favorecerá tanto a los aeropuertos como a las compañías aéreas de Canadá. En consecuencia, beneficiará nuestra economía, ya que mejorará la competitividad de los servicios de viajes que se ofrecen a los turistas y viajeros de negocios en Canadá.
