Les termes français «arrêt minute» et «dépose minute» expriment la même réalité que le terme anglais «kiss and ride» mais d'un point de vue différent. En effet, en français, on décrit l'action du point de vue du conducteur de la voiture particulière qui utilise une aire désignée (l'aire d'arrêt minute) pour déposer (ou venir chercher) un usager à une station ou à un arrêt de transport en commun. En anglais, on décrit plutôt l'action du point de vue de la personne qui utilise les deux moyens de transport.

dépose minute : Ce terme, fréquemment employé en Europe, semble redondant (le concept de «dépose» contient nécessairement l'idée d'une «courte durée») et mal construit (le nom «dépose», dérivé du verbe «déposer», devrait être suivi d'un complément : on dépose «quelqu'un»). Pour ces raisons, le terme «arrêt minute» paraît mieux adapté pour désigner la présente notion.
