Founded in 1982, the Land Trust Alliance is a national land conservation organization that works to save the places people need and love by strengthening land conservation across America. ... The Alliance is based in Washington, D.C. and operates several regional offices.

The Alliance brings its more than 1,100 member land trusts together — and increases each one's success. [It advocates] for the policies and incentives that it takes to save millions of acres every year. [It's] the go-to source for training for people who work in conservation — so land trusts get more done. [It backs] up land trusts when the places they promise to protect are threatened. And [it supports] land trusts in connecting more people to the land.
