the light-harvesting chlorophyll-protein complex (LHCP) contains 40 to 60 per cent of the total chlorophyll of the mature thylakoid. This complex is photochemically inactive but transfers light energy to PSI and possibly to PSI, and it contains both types of chlorophyll molecules.
