An unpartitioned apartment occupying an entire floor (usually second or upper floors) of a business building or a warehouse or raised on any floor of such buildings when recycled for housing.

CONT

If you have never lived in a loft before, you should be prepared for some ver y real differences between apartments and lofts. The most basic difference is in the amount of space available to you and the openness of that space.
