Nous avons démontré que la lutéinisation des cellules de la granulosa se traduit par une régulation positive de leur capacité de transport du cholestérol. À l'aide du modèle des cellules ovariennes, nous avons démontré que deux protéines responsables du transport intracellulaire du cholestérol présentent une variation de leur expression et une régulation rapide pendant la lutéinisation. Il s'agit de la protéine de Niemann-Pick en jeu dans le stockage et la libération intracellulaires du cholestérol et la protéine de régulation rapide des stéroïdes (StAR), responsable du passage du cholestérol de la membrane mitochondriale interne à la membrane mitochondriale externe.
