a method of moving two bytes of data between memory and a register pair. The instruction address points to the first of the two bytes. The second byte follows sequentially after the first.

the address in an instruction is combined with a value in an extension register to give the actual address of the operand of the instruction.

L'adressage étendu ou normal est tout simplement un adressage normal de la mémoire, qui utilise un format de trois mots. Le premier mot contient le code opération et les deux mots suivants contiennent l'adresse à 16 bits.

OBS

L'adressage étendu est utilisé pour n'importe quel type d'opération de branchement ou de saut normal. Le terme «étendu» est utilisé par certains fabricants dans le seul but de distinguer ce mode d'adressage de l'adressage «direct», pour lequel seule une adresse de saut de 8 bits est permise.
