Subject field(s)

  • Prosthetic Dentistry
DEF

The ability [of a material to passively allow] the attachment, migration, and distribution of vascular and osteogenic cells within the graft material.

CONT

Facilitation of the bone regeneration process may involve the interaction of two restorative mechanisms, osteoconduction and osteoinduction. Osteoconduction assists bone growth by providing a physical "scaffold" for new bone to grow on. For example, coral, calcium mineral and ceramic materials have osteoconductive effects.

Key term(s)
  • osseo conduction

French

Domaine(s)
  • Morphologie et physiologie générale
  • Prothèses
  • Dentisterie prothétique
DEF
