Within the group of Lewy body disease (LBD), DLB [dementia with Lewy bodies] is one of the diseases while Parkinson disease dementia (PDD) is another. They present a similar neuropathological appearance but differentiate in their clinical expression. In DLB, the cognitive symptoms precede the motor symptoms, whereas in PDD the non-cognitive symptoms are the first sign of the disease.

The Ceremonial Guard, formerly known as the Public Duties Detachment, is a composite of attached companies from the Governor General's Foot Guards (GGFG) Ottawa and The Canadian Grenadier Guards (CGG) Montreal, the Band of the Ceremonial Guard, and a Headquarters Company providing supply, transportation, training, administrative and medical support to the unit. The Ceremonial Guard was established by the Canadian Forces to plan and prepare and execute Public Duties in the Nation's Capital during the summer. Every guardsman, Musician and member of the support staff is a trained soldier of the Canadian Forces on Regular or Reserve service.

PDD [pervasive developmental disorder] is a generic term referring to a group of disorders that are characterized by: impairments in social interaction, impairment in verbal and nonverbal communication, and a restrictive, stereotypic pattern of behaviours. There is considerable variability in symptoms among individuals with PDD and considerable variability in the severity of these symptoms. There are a variety of disorders that fall under this category (including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Rett's Syndrome, etc.).
