Par exemple, en supposant une augmentation de 9,25 % du taux normal d'incidence en relation avec une diminution de 5 % de l'ozone total, on obtient un coefficient de 1,83. Ce coefficient sert à prédire une augmentation ou une diminution de 1,83 % des cancers cutanés à chaque pourcentage d'augmentation ou de diminution de l'ozone total.
