Détecteur à diffusion de la lumière (DDL). Le principe de ce détecteur est fondé sur l'évaporation partielle de l'effluent de la colonne chromatographique de façon à obtenir un brouillard de particules solides ou liquides du soluté qui traverse un faisceau lumineux. La lumière diffusée sous un angle déterminé est détectée par un photomultiplicateur. L'appareillage comporte trois parties distinctes: un nébuliseur pneumatique dans lequel se forme un brouillard de gouttelettes de diamètre homogène, un tube chauffé où se produit l'évaporation de la phase éluante et une cellule de détection traversée par le faisceau lumineux.
