The Insurer will pay on behalf of the insured any loss that the insured is legally obligated to pay as a result of environmental impairment which emanated from the covered location specifically scheduled in the policy. Coverage is for claims that are made and reported during the policy period. Ce contrat remonte à la première génération des marchés spécialisés en matière de pollution ou de dommages à l'environnement : il garantit, d'une part, les dommages corporels et matériels à autrui, en raison de la responsabilité d'une entreprise assurée, et, d'autre part, les frais de nettoyage. Seuls les frais de nettoyage encourus par autrui sont couverts.
