Priority interrupt levels must be assigned using the interaction of functions with each other as a primary basis. The on-line systems designer must ensure all possible interrupts are operating compatibly when worst-case conditions occur.

L'interruption prioritaire absolue ménage sans délai le passage du programme en cours au programme à priorité absolue [...] La méthode la plus usuelle consiste à segmenter les programmes non prioritaires, donc susceptibles d'être interrompus, par tranches. À la fin de chaque tranche, on place les instructions de sauvegarde. Ainsi une interruption pour priorité absolue ne détruira que la dernière tranche, qui sera initialisée de nouveau.
