Il est certains sites, comme la chambre antérieure de l'œil, le tissu cérébral ou encore la poche jugale du hamster qui, par leur absence de drainage lymphatique, permettent la survie prolongée d'allogreffes incompatibles. Il semble exister autour de ces sites une barrière empêchant les antigènes de transplantation de sortir et surtout les cellules lymphoïdes de pénétrer. [...] Le placenta représente également une barrière cellulaire contribuant probablement à la protection du fœtus «allogreffé».
