Certaines complications se manifestent parfois après la vaccination, notamment : vaccine oculaire, myopéricardite, eczéma vaccinal (éruption papulaire, vésiculaire et pustulaire très infectieuse, 38 cas pour un million de doses), vaccine progressive (nécrose progressive au point de vaccination, 3 cas pour un million de doses), maladie du SNC [système nerveux central] post‑vaccinale (mal de tête, léthargie, convulsions et coma, 12 cas pour un million de doses), malformations fœtales et avortement (très rare).
