Quartz-bearing gabbronorite is the most common rock type of the Lower Zone [of the Sudbury Igneous Complex], and is composed of plagioclase-orthopyroxene cumulates, cumulus or intercumulus clinopyroxene, and intercumulus quartz, quartz-feldspar micrographic intergrowth, biotite, and Fe-Ti oxides.
