D'après Claire Morency, de la RRQ on peut transférer, partager (entre conjoints par exemple) ou acquitter des droits à pension. Dans ce dernier cas, il s'agit de remettre au participant la valeur de ce qu'il a versé dans le régime ainsi que les intérêts ou autre forme de valorisation générés par les droits à pension. S'il faut être plus explicite, on peut utiliser la périphrase "remboursement du montant correspondant aux droits à pension", mais l'expression acquittement des droits à pension demeure préférable.
