The Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP) is a program designed to support the Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs) of Canada, their Constituent Groups, Groups of Five and Community Sponsors on a national level (excl. Quebec). The objective of the RSTP is to address their information and on-going training needs as well as the initial information needs of sponsored refugees.

Le Programme de formation sur le parrainage privé des réfugiés (PFPR) est un programme conçu pour venir en aide aux Signataires d'entente de parrainage (SEP) et leurs Groupes constitutifs, ainsi qu'aux Groupes de cinq et Répondants communautaires, où qu'ils se trouvent au Canada (à l'exception du Québec). L'objectif du PFPR est de répondre à leurs besoins en matière d'information et de formation continue ainsi qu'aux besoins initiaux des réfugiés parrainés en matière d'information.

Based at Mount Allison University, the RSTP was established in 1984 as an independent research centre dedicated to exploring and resolving social, environmental, and economic issues facing small communities in Canada. It prepares people and organizations to adapt to change and to act on opportunities for developing sustainable rural communities and small towns. It links research and action by generating and sharing new knowledge, developing self-help tools, and providing information and educational services which lead to innovative approaches and solutions.
