SEAL THROTTLE [1 record]

Record 1 - external organization data 2006-03-24

English

Subject field(s)
  • Mechanical Components
  • Nuclear Fission Reactors
  • Compartment - Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
CONT

About 10% of the total gland supply D2O flows between the various seal cavities via seal throttles (or breakdown cells) arranged in parallel with the seal faces. This results in a progressive lowering of D2O pressure in successive seal cavities.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Composants mécaniques
  • Réacteurs nucléaires de fission
  • Tiroir - Commission canadienne de sûreté nucléaire
CONT

Environ 10 % de l'écoulement de D2O total dans la garniture s'écoule entre les différentes cavités de joint par les régulateurs de joint disposés en parallèle par rapport aux faces des joints. Cela cause une baisse graduelle de la pression du D2O dans les cavités de joint.
