The Silver Spangled Hamburg is a member of the Continental Class of poultry and was first recognized by the standard in 1874 making it one of the oldest breeds around. They are good layers of white eggs and a great foyager to keep on the farm

Comme toutes les poules légères, la Hambourg vole bien. Pour les variétés noire et argenté pailleté, masse du coq : 2 à 2,5 kg; de la poule : 1,5 à 2 kg.
