The Slaughter Improvement Program's (SIP) objectives are to strengthen the competitiveness of the red meat industry by providing interest-free, conditionally repayable contributions aimed at supporting investments to make operational improvements and modernize and will support investments to enhance slaughter capacity in regions that have a demonstrated regional gap that is constraining sector growth. The SIP is delivered nationally by Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada.

Le Programme d'amélioration de l'abattage (PAA) vise à renforcer la compétitivité du secteur des viandes rouges en offrant des contributions qui sont remboursables sous certaines conditions et sans intérêts. Cette aide vise à soutenir les investissements dans l'amélioration de l'exploitation et la modernisation, ainsi qu'à rehausser la capacité d'abattage dans les régions où il a été démontré que l'insuffisance en la matière entravent la croissance du secteur. Le Programme d'amélioration de l'abattage est offert au niveau national par Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada.
