sparagmite : Nom local donné par le géologue norvégien J. Esmark, en 1829, à une roche sédimentaire détritique de la famille des grès. Dans la terminologie actuelle, elle correspond à une arkose grossière à conglomératique (éléments de taille supérieure à 2 mm), composée de quartz, de feldspath et de débris de roches, d'où son nom (sparagma, débris); ces éléments sont en général anguleux.
