The filter fabric is generally made of synthetic fibres. The correct choice of fabric has a great influence on the performance of a pressure filtering unit. In some cases, the filter fabric is not fitted directly to the plate but is applied on a coarser felt-like sub-fabric, to improve the distribution of pressure over the whole filtering surface.

Les toiles filtrantes sont généralement tissées en fibres synthétiques. Le choix judicieux de la qualité de la toile a une grande influence sur le rendement d'une installation de filtration sous pression. Dans certains cas, la toile filtrante n'est pas montée directement sur la plaque, mais sur une sous-toile plus grossière, d'aspect feutré, permettant une meilleure répartition de la pression sur toute la surface filtrante.
