The government launched the Technology Partnerships Program in January 1995. It promotes collaboration between Canadian universities and small businesses in the commercialization of technologies. It provides strategic support for cost sharing between universities and the private sector in the development of new products. The program is delivered by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council.
