The ridge count from each finger is obtained by counting the number of ridges traversing a straight line running from the triradius to the centre of the pattern. The sum of the counts from the 10 fingers makes up the total ridge count. Since an arch has no triradius, its ridge count will be zero; while a whorl, with two triradii will normally have a higher ridge count than a loop. 1, record 1, English, - total%20ridge%20count

Persons with the XO condition have the highest average total ridge count of all the groups tested, while the available data on XXY males suggests a somewhat lower TRC than normal XY males. 1, record 1, English, - total%20ridge%20count

1, record 1, French, - compte%20total%20des%20cr%C3%AAtes
