Ski jump. A skier changes positions several times during a jump. The jumper enters a crouched (or tuck) position down an inrun, springs outward and upward upon takeoff, leans forward throughout flight to maintain lift, bends the hips and knees and places one foot in front of the other into a telemark position for landing, and then straightens up and slows down throughout the outrun. The range of possible landing positions is marked by three points (norm, table, and K, or critical) on the landing hill. The norm point and the table point indicate the beginning and ending, respectively, of the normal landing area, while the K-point marks the last safe landing spot on that hill.

La personne qui supporte la charge juridique de l'impôt est le contribuable. Elle n'en supporte certes pas toujours la charge économique étant donné le phénomène de la répercussion qui reporte souvent sur d'autres le poids économique de l'impôt. Aussi parfois pour souligner le fait que celui au nom de qui l'impôt a été établi peut en répercuter la charge sur d'autres, le désigne-t-on non pas sous le nom de contribuable, mais sous le nom d'assujetti. C'est le cas pour la taxe sur la valeur ajoutée. Mais à côté du contribuable ou de l'assujetti, au nom de qui l'impôt a été juridiquement établi, il y a aussi le redevable qui est la personne à laquelle le fisc peut demander le paiement de l'imposition bien qu'il n'ait pas été établi à son nom. En principe, c'est le contribuable qui doit payer personnellement l'impôt : le contribuable est en même temps redevable et la distinction des deux notions ne présente pas d'intérêt.

Il ne faut pas dire payeur de taxes, mais contribuable. Le fardeau des contribuables devient de plus en plus lourd.
