CONT

Tuff cones are a variety of pyroclastic cone formed by more energetic explosions involving groundwater that extensively fragment ejecta, producing finer-grained ash deposits; they typically have steeper slopes and wider craters than cinder cones.

OBS

tuff cone: Similar to a cinder cone except they are less common and are formed by explosions when magma comes into contact with water.

Domaine(s)
  • Volcanologie et sismologie
  • Géomorphologie et géomorphogénie
CONT
