La protéine p23 ou p23 sor ou vif intracellulaire, non retrouvée dans le virus mais dans les cellules infectées par le VIH, est le produit du gène vif et intervient dans l'assemblage des particules virales ou au moment de l'initiation de la réplication; c'est un facteur d'infectivité.
