Le Canada a [...] avantage à opérer des changements au chapitre de sa production au profit de catégories ayant une plus grande valeur ajoutée, surtout les papiers impression et écriture pour lesquels la demande mondiale croît deux fois plus vite que celle du papier journal. La fabrication d'un bon papier impression-écriture est étroitement reliée à la pâte utilisée (chimique et mécanique) et à la quantité de charge minérale. L'étude entreprise vise l'incorporation de pâtes mécaniques (BCTMP, APMP) de feuillus et de charges minérales (glaise et carbonate) dans ce type de papier.
