La section du manuel de vol de l'avion qui porte sur les procédures d'urgence indique que pour sortir d'une vrille intempestive, il faut mettre les gaz à fond, braquer la gouverne de direction à fond dans le sens contraire à la rotation, et pousser le manche à l'avant du neutre. Lorsque la rotation cesse, il faut ramener la gouverne de direction au neutre, réduire les gaz jusqu'au régime de ralenti, et sortir en douceur du piqué.
