OBS

The JSTC for GCOS has the responsibility to formulate the concept and design of the overall system, as well as en effective strategy for its development and implementation. The JSTC currently consists of 16 members, selected on the basis of their personal expertise, appointed jointly by the executive heads of the sponsoring organizations. The committee includes atmosphere, ocean, and terrestrial experts, and scientists and engineers from relevant national organizations, including space agencies.
