Dementia is not a specific disease but is rather a general term for the impaired ability to remember, think, or make decisions that interferes with doing everyday activities. Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia. Though dementia mostly affects older adults, it is not a part of normal aging. 2, record 1, English, - dementia

dementia: The designation "dementia" is sometimes considered pejorative. However, there is no generally accepted synonym to replace it. One strategy to avoid using the designation "dementia" is to replace it with "neurocognitive impairment." However, while the word "impairment" is acceptable in a medical context, it can sometimes be considered offensive. Depending on the context, other strategies include using the name of a specific disorder (if the context refers explicitly to a specific disorder) or the generic designation "major neurocognitive disorder." 3, record 1, English, - dementia

2, record 1, French, - d%C3%A9mence
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
