Ce type d'indicateur de cisaillement du vent est utilisé dans le LLWSAS (Low-Level Wind Shear Alert System) de la FAA. Les afficheurs de la rangée du haut indiquent les données recueillies par le détecteur central, à savoir la direction (080 degrés) et la vitesse (13 nœuds) du vent, ainsi que la vitesse des rafales (29 nœuds). Les autres rangées d'afficheurs permettent de connaître la direction et la vitesse du vent mesurées par cinq détecteurs à la périphérie de l'aéroport.
