The period during which the pulp is agitated with a given chemical, or combination of chemicals, in the series of conditioning operations which precede separation of various minerals in the ore by froth flotation.

Conditioning: Stage of froth-flotation process in which the surfaces of the mineral species present in a pulp are treated with appropriate chemicals to influence their reaction when the pulp is aerated.
