The turn and slip indicator is a combination of two instruments; the turn needle and the ball. The needle is gyro operated to show rate of turn. The ball reacts to centrifugal force to indicate the quality of a turn ... In a skid, the rate of turn is too great for the angle of bank. Centrifugal force moves the ball to the outside of the turn. Increasing the bank or slowing the rate of turn will correct a skid. 1, record 1, English, - skid
