English

Subject field(s)
  • Heating
DEF

A heating system for a building in which the heat-conveying medium is hot water, and the heat-emitting means are radiators, convectors, or panel coils.

CONT

Hydronic heating maintains comfort in the home by circulating hot water to the secondary heat exchanger. This system basically consists of a boiler, a pump, a secondary heat exchanger, and a series of piping.

OBS

Low-temperature water heating system. Some authors use indifferently "hot water system" or "low-temperature water heating system" to designate a heating system having hot water at a temperature lower than 250 °F.

OBS

hot(-) water heating; hydronic heating. Some authors often use the term "heating" to designate a "heating system". The term "System" is then omitted.

OBS

Technically, a "hydronic system" may be either a "hot water system" or a "steam system", as confirmed in the source AMERI. However, many sources define a "hydronic system" as a "hot water system".

Domaine(s)
  • Chauffage
CONT

Subject field(s)
  • Heating
DEF

Heating whereby hot water circulates through pipes, coils, and radiators.

OBS

hydronic : adj. relating to or being a system of heating or cooling that involves transfer of heat by a circulating fluid in a closed system of pipes.

OBS

Technically, a "hydronic system" may be either a "hot water system" or a "steam system", as confirmed in the source AMERI. However, many sources define a "hydronic system" as a "hot water system".

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chauffage
DEF

CONT

The essential parts of the forced-circulation hot-water system are the boiler ... the circulation pump ... the expansion tank and fittings to permit the hot water to expand and to keep air out of the system; the heating units in the rooms; the connecting piping ....

CONT

The hydronic system is simply a forced hot-water system. The water is sent streaking through the system by a centrifugal pump.

CONT

Subject field(s)
  • Ovens, Furnaces and Boilers (Heating)
CONT

Electric hydronic boilers are designed specifically for hot water heating systems in homes and apartments. They are factory-assembled and wired with circulator, compression tank, and controls; all enclosed in a compact, clean-lined jacket....

CONT

The central electric hot water boiler is compact because the heating elements are immersed directly in the water that is being heated - like an electric kettle. For difficult installations, the boiler can be installed on a basement wall, hung from basement ceiling joists, in a closet, or under kitchen cabinets.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Fours et chaudières (Chauffage)
CONT

CONT

Most modern hydronic systems usually employ a flow-through type of heat exchanger. This consists of a number of finned heat exchange tubes connecting two headers. This heat exchange system is generally used with finned convector radiators to transfer heat to living areas... [A] circulation pump is used to force water, at 80 °C(180°F), quickly through the system. A smaller volume of water is used, which means smaller pipes and radiators.
