Stocks, also commonly referred to as equities or shares, are issued by a public corporation and put up for sale. Companies originally used stocks as a way of raising additional capital, and as a way to boost their business growth. When the company first puts these stocks up for sale, this is called the initial public offering. Once this stage is complete, the shares themselves are then sold on the stock market, which is where any stock trading will occur. 2, record 3, English, - stock%20trading

1, record 3, Spanish, - comercio%20de%20acciones

... An agent of a buyer or a seller who buys or sells stocks, bonds, commodities, or services, usually on a commission basis. 5, record 8, English, - stockbroker
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 1 CONT
At one time, there was a major distinction between securities firms. These were investment dealers on the one hand and stock brokers on the other, and individual securities firms tended to specialize as one or the other. This distinction has largely disappeared. In simple terms, an investment dealer acts as principal in securities transactions while a stock broker acts as agent. A securities firm acting as a dealer or principal owns the securities that are sold to or bought from investors. Thus, the securities are part of the firm's inventory. The difference between buying and selling prices is the dealer's gross profit or loss. On the other hand, the stock broker, as an agent, acts on behalf of the buyer or seller but does not own the securities. 6, record 8, English, - stockbroker

Record number: 8, Textual support number: 1 DEF
2, record 8, French, - courtier
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 1 CONT
6, record 8, French, - courtier
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 1 OBS
2, record 8, French, - courtier
