In November 1981, the "Canadian University Service Overseas" and the "Service universitaire canadien outre-mer" became two separate organizations. The "Canadian University Service Overseas" then adopted as name the old acronym "CUSO" for both English and French. Since the long title is no longer used, only the acronym "CUSO" is official in English and French. Organization which is established in Ottawa, Ontario.
