(1) The Supreme Court of Ontario is continued as a superior court of record having civil and criminal jurisdiction, with all the jurisdiction, power and authority historically exercised by courts of common law and equity in England and Ontario. (2) The Supreme Court shall continue to consist of two branches, the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the High Court of Justice for Ontario.


(1) The High Court shall consist of the Chief Justice of the High Court, who shall be president of the court, the Associate Chief Justice of the High Court and such number of other judges as is fixed under subsections.

(1) La Cour suprême de l'Ontario continue de constituer une cour supérieure d'archives compétente en matières civile et criminelle. Elle a la compétence et les pouvoirs traditionnellement exercés par les tribunaux de common law et d'equity en Angleterre et en Ontario. (2) La Cour suprême continue de comprendre deux sections, la Cour d'appel de l'Ontario et la Haute Cour de justice de l'Ontario.


La Haute Cour se compose du juge en chef de la Haute Cour, qui en est le président, du juge en chef adjoint de la Haute Cour et des autres juges dont le nombre est fixé conformément au paragraphe (a).
