C'est pour cette raison que la technique dite de préamplification du génome est très intéressante. Elle consiste à utiliser, lors d'une première réaction d'amplification, un ensemble d'oligonucléotides de 15 bases, représentant le plus grand nombre de séquences possibles, et permettant d'amplifier 95% du génome; cette technique augmente donc de façon considérable la quantité de matériel de départ.
