As the aircraft nears the OMNI station, (½ mile) the zone of confusion will direct an "S" turn in alternate directions as the OMNI indicator needle swings. This alternate banking, is an indication that station passage is imminent.

La distance totale de vol suivant le début de la descente est ajustée selon les instructions du CTA qui maintient la distance requise entre tous les avions en approche finale. Pour ce faire, les avions doivent être dirigés pour se tourner vers le LOC (extension de la ligne centrale de la piste) à différentes distances de la piste. Ceci peut entraîner un certain nombre de manœuvres comme un virage ou un double virage en S, pour retarder l'opération si nécessaire.
