A sugar alcohol used as a replacement sweetener for low calorie foods with approximately 40% of the sweetness of sugar.

CONT

Lactitol is derived from lactose (milk sugar). It has a sweetness profile similar to that of sucrose - with only .03 times the sweetness of sucrose.
