OBS

The crisis of oversupply and weak demand of diamonds during the Great Depression led to the formation of the Central Selling Organization (CSO). The CSO is a group of companies associated with De Beers Consolidated Mines and De Beers Centenary AG to purchase, sort, evaluate, and market rough diamonds. Gem quality diamonds are sold through the Diamond Trading Company and industrial-grade material through De Beers Industrial Diamond Division. The CSO is also known as the Diamond Cartel.

OBS
