Sur le plan technique, il s'agit d'une ostéotomie transversale extra-articulaire de l'os iliaque, légèrement ascendante, concave vers le bas, parallèle à la tête fémorale, au ras de la capsule articulaire avec translation interne du fragment inférieur (fig. 3). La capsule articulaire interposée entre la tête fémorale et le fragment supérieur iliaque se transforme en fibrocartilage et il se produit un remodelage progressif de la hanche.
