Les dérivations bipolaires de Einthoven I, II, III sont constituées d'électrodes actives qui enregistrent la différence de potentiel entre les 2 points où elles sont appliquées : I = connexion bras gauche-bras droit, II = connexion bras droit-jambe gauche, III = connexion bras gauche-jambe gauche.
