A temperature index which describes how the real air temperature feels due to the cooling effect of wind.

CONT

When the wind blows, a person going cross-country skiing or hiking in the wild would like to know the cooling power of the wind expressed as "equivalent chill temperature".

Lorsque le vent souffle à moins de 8 km/h, on ne calcule habituellement pas le facteur de refroidissement éolien et la température équivalente.

La personne qui va dans les bois par temps froid veut savoir la température réelle que percevra son corps exprimée en nombre de degrés représentant ce froid s'il n'y avait pas de refroidissement de l'air par le vent.

Ne pas confondre avec le facteur de refroidissement éolien.
