Système de test dont le principe est basé sur l'émulation du vol, afin de réaliser des essais d'intégration qui, autrement, nécessiteraient de faire voler l'avion à tester. Le banc est installé sur un camion qu'on amène au pied de l'avion et qu'on relie au moyen de câbles. Le FETS reçoit de l'avion les entrées du système de commandes vol, calcule l'ensemble des paramètres de vol et les réinjecte aux senseurs de l'avion pour voir comment celui-ci réagit. Le système a été développé par un ingénieur de Boeing.
