Concrètement, la solution la plus courante consiste à appliquer au corps du gyro une excitation sinusoïdale de grande amplitude qui le fait trembler.Ce tremblement correspond à un taux de rotation d'environ 100 o/s que l'on compense artificiellement au niveau du capteur pour que celui-ci mesure le taux réel de rotation.
