technique Levallois [du site de Levallois-Perret, Hauts-de-Seine] : Méthode de débitage de la pierre permettant d'obtenir des éclats ayant une forme prédéterminée par la préparation du nucléus. Cette méthode apparaît dès le paléolithique inférieur; elle a connu un grand développement pendant le paléolithique moyen et perdura jusqu'au néolithique.
