LOW-TEMPERATURE CARBONISATION [1 record]

Record 1 2006-09-29

English

Subject field(s)
  • Coal Preparation
DEF

Carbonization carried out at a low-temperature (between 500° and 700°C).

OBS

During the process, the smoke producing compounds are driven off as tars and oils and collected as valuable byproducts, leaving a coke with about 10 percent volatile matter. The coke yield is about 14 hundred weight per ton and used as a domestic fuel.

Key term(s)

CONT

OBS

semi-coke : obtenu par cokéfaction à basse température.
